You will need an electric drill, 1-1/4 inch hole saw, and a pipe wrench or adjustable wrench for installation. The bulkhead fittings require 1.25 inch diameter holes to be installed. These spigots are compatible with rain barrels with a maximum wall thickness of 0.78 inches, making them suitable for almost all barrels on the market. Made of heavy-duty and durable brass, the spigot connector is threaded to easily connect with a garden hose. It is designed specifically for garden rainwater harvesting and should not be used for direct drinking water. Included with the spigot is a 3/4” garden hose quick connector, allowing you to easily connect the spigot to your garden hose or car wash hose. The quick coupler feature makes it simple to push in or out. For winter protection, the spigot comes with a 5.9”W x 7.0”H insulation cover made of heavy waterproof polyester 210D Oxford fabric. The cover is filled with thick gummy cotton to prevent your outdoor faucet from freezing and cracking in sub-zero temperatures. To prevent leakage, the water barrel spigot includes a silicone gasket and thread seal tape for double protection against water leakage.
